Marek Skulimowski

​Marek Skulimowski, an accomplished Polish diplomat, businessman, and philanthropist, is dedicated to advancing the mission of the Kosciuszko Foundation, fostering education, and promoting Polish culture worldwide. Under his visionary leadership, the Foundation is celebrating its centennial year and setting new benchmarks in cultural diplomacy and outreach.

​A champion of cultural heritage, Skulimowski has been instrumental in recovering artwork stolen during World War II and successfully negotiating its return to Poland. As a board member of the Polish National Library, he is committed to preserving Poland’s rare books and historical archives for future generations.

​In the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Skulimowski took swift humanitarian action. Traveling to the Ukrainian border, he personally delivered food and medicine to support women and children fleeing the conflict. Opening his home to refugees, he also spearheaded a fundraising campaign that raised nearly $2 million to aid Ukrainians seeking refuge in Poland.

​Before his tenure at the Kosciuszko Foundation, Skulimowski served as Deputy Consul General of the Republic of Poland in New York and as Political Counselor at the Embassy of Poland in Tel Aviv. In the private sector, he led the U.S. operations of INGLOT Cosmetics, orchestrating its expansion to over 40 retail locations and 100 distribution outlets nationwide.

​Skulimowski’s extensive background in business management, coupled with his profound understanding of Polish culture and history, has significantly impacted both the public and private sectors. Born in Lubaczów, Poland, he graduated from the University of Warsaw’s American Studies Center. In 2024, he was nominated for the prestigious Jerzy Giedroyc Award, which recognized his unwavering dedication to fostering relationships among the Polish, Jewish, and Ukrainian communities—values central to Giedroyc’s legacy.

​Marek Skulimowski is married to Agnieszka and is the father of three sons: Edmund, Florian, and Filip.
