A NYState Senate candidate Elizabeth Crowley meets with Pulaski Association

Former City Council member and two-times Queens borough president candidate who is currently running for the District 17 State Senate seat has met with Pulaski Association of Business and Professional Men.

Elizabeth Crowley visited the Polish and Slavic center on Tuesday April 5th to address the members of Pulaski Association of Business and Professional Men. In her speech she talked about the  issues that relate to small businesses and promised to cut the red tape and reduce the amount of regulations that are being placed on small businesses. She also said that she supports the safety in New York City and that she is not for  defunding the police but rather of more effective police work and reforms that would not compromise safety and at the same time not allow for the abuse of power by the police. She also said that she will be a strong advocate for the senior citizen community and she will ensure proper funding and services are provided to seniors in Greenpoint including more Polish language options in the state and city agencies.

Strong support for the Polish community.

Elizabeth Crowley told the members of the association that if elected she would help to establish a “Little Poland” district in Greenpoint and she would suport the efforts to include more information about Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Kazimierz Pulaski and Polish-American history in the New York State textbooks.  When asked about the recent devastation of the Father Popieluszko statue She strongly condemned any hate crimes or hate speech in the City of New York and she expressed her support to help establish a permanent monitoring system around the statue that has been defaced too many times in the last decades. Elizabeth reminded the Association that while serving as the City Council District 30 member she introduced the bill to rename a street in Maspeth after Polish pope John Paul II. The renaming was approved by the Mayor and on April 6, 2014 the new name for part of 56th Road was officially unveiled making it a John Paul II Way.

“ I am running for State Senate to fight for our working families and to ensure a strong recovery for New York. I know the struggles our families are facing because I have lived it. And although our communities are facing great challenges and I know working together we will come back stronger. “ said Elizabeth Crowley in a quote provided on her website.

The primary election is scheduled for June 28, 2022.
